Far and Wide

Whoa, Monday update. And a late Monday update as well. Sorry, this won't happen again. Honest guv!

News this week. Mainly been at work all this week so I've not been doing much interesting and exciting. I've gotten my latest album, Sic Transit Gloria Mundi, all mastered and mixed and everything done, just waiting to hear back from the record label about getting it released.

I've also been watching a load of Arnie films. I am now stocked up one liners if the need ever arises that I use some pithy line in the event of a rabid alien landing in Chester and hunting everyone, if a robot comes back from the future, if some arms dealers start selling railguns from Chester, or if my daughter is kidnapped. Which in itself would be awesomely weird as I don't have a daughter.

Right, I'm signing off now as I need to go to bed soon. So see ya all later.

The Sound of Silence

Yet another Sunday update. I may keep this new date as it gives me something to do on Sunday, plus with me now working, I can't be arsed to update this on Friday or Saturday. So this is a provisional basis that I update every Sunday.

Anyway, new news. EGVP album is very almost done. Just waiting for my mate to add his guitar solo to the title track and then we're all good to send to it off to the label HQ and get them to release it. Fun times.

I've mainly been reminiscing about the old times, or at least trying to reminisce with the slight disability of not being able to remember much very well. It more comes to me in bits and pieces, like having one of my old friends lying on my bed with me on there too, her head on my chest and her asking me why my heart was beating so fast cos I was unused to such gorgeous creatures choosing to use me as a bed. Also the same friend, she had ribs for the first time with me at her house, and me being an experienced rib eater, proper went for them like an animal. Om nom nom.

It's moments like these that I can't remember most of the time, and that really upsets me because I've lost parts of myself I can't replace. And because its my memory thats gone, I can't remember sometimes if I've done something or not and so I don't know what I've lost exactly. Which depresses me. So yeah. This was a bit of a cheerful post this week. See you all next week.

Sic transit gloria mundi

Sunday update.

Been having lots of hassle with my work based learning placement this week. I don't really want to go into it any more as it just depresses and annoys me. Suffice to say, it's driving me mad but I've almost got it sorted out, I think.

Music-wise this week, not a lot has been happening with EGVP. I've done the preliminary work on another track, a very bass-heavy track, but nothing much really to say about it. I'm also trying to keep stuff quiet so as to provide a surprise for everyone when they listen to it.

I've been listening to a lot of Tool lately as well as keeping an eye on the NIN setlists. I'm really excited and can't wait until July comes around and I get to see them.

Hmm. Short update this week. May go for a longer post next week maybe. Who knows.

What Lies Below

So, the weekly round-up begins.

Not a lot to report, apart from remixing Voices Nostalgic, originally by Orphidice. Expect to see both the original and hopefully my remix on the next album if all goes to plan. I've also laid down the basis for two tracks, need to work on the drums and guitar for them and just see how that all goes.

I've been playing a lot of unusual games lately, mostly from the Xbox Live Community, and some Flash Games. Most notable of these is Miner Dig Deep, which is strangely addictive. Also been playing that old classic, Banjo-Tooie, which is longer than I originally remember it, which is good as I need something to keep me occupied.

Here's a thought for all of you out there reading this. Why are people so apathetic towards the swine flu?

Starting up

So. I'm starting up a new blog, after about a year of not blogging. For those who don't know me, I'm the main man behind the ambient project known as Electronica Ghost Voice Phenomena (the link is so you can download my stuff, for free, I might add), and you can call me Jamie.

Essentially, this blog is gonna be a mixture of me posting updates about new EGVP and other related stuff, mixed with the occasional music review and random query. I'm gonna try and keep this updated at least once a week, probably around the end of the week, so check back around Thursday/Friday/Saturday for an update. If this changes dramatically, then I'll post with a new schedule.

For now though, I've got some news vis a vis music. My collaboration with fellow record-label-mate, Dominic Hemy, has been finished up, and should be released fairly soon. Go to the mrsvee site and keep an eye out for the Hemy/Rowell - What Lies Below link. Feel free to download everything else as well, it's all amazingly good. I've also started work on the third EGVP mrsvee album, which is gonna hopefully have a summer-y feel to it and be more... warm and less cold than the previous two mrsvee albums.
